LATAM Fan Zones: Where to Watch in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico

Argentina brought out 5 million people for the Qatar final. Brazil and Mexico are preparing something bigger. Here's the map of the planned public fan zones across LATAM — plus the ones you should actually attend.

Latin America doesn’t do “watch parties” — it does city-stopping fan zones. Here’s what’s officially announced for 2026.

Argentina

The AFA and Buenos Aires city hall have confirmed a free public fan zone at Avenida 9 de Julio, the same road that saw the 2022 celebration. Capacity is soft-capped at 500,000 for night matches, with overflow screens at:

  • Plaza San Martín — more family-friendly, earlier closures
  • Parque Centenario — residential / less chaotic
  • Rosario, Plaza 25 de Mayo — Messi’s hometown, guaranteed wall of pilgrims for every Argentina match

Brazil

CBF’s plan is the biggest of the three: official fan zones in 12 state capitals, funded through a Globo sponsorship deal. The flagship is Copacabana Beach, operated as during 2014 — 50,000 m² of LED screens, free entry, live bands between matches. Paulistas will head to Ibirapuera Park.

Brazil kickoffs tend to land in afternoon → evening hours locally (most US Eastern slots), so fan zones open around noon and run until midnight on match days.

Mexico

As a co-host, Mexico is going hard. Zócalo (CDMX) will host the biggest free fan zone in the world — free entry, giant LED wall, blocked-off historic center for every single Mexico match plus the final. Previous editions drew 120,000 people for a single group-stage game.

Secondary locations:

  • Parque Fundidora (Monterrey)
  • Lago de Chapultepec — family zone, earlier matches only
  • Guadalajara, Plaza Liberación

Practical notes

  • Alcohol rules vary wildly. Buenos Aires and São Paulo allow beer sales inside the fan zone; Mexico City does not (official zone is dry; surrounding bars fill up).
  • Public transit runs late on match nights in CDMX (Metrobús lines 1 and 7) and Buenos Aires (Subte lines B and D). Confirm on match day.
  • Safety: LATAM fan zones are generally family-friendly, but pickpocketing spikes. Leave the new iPhone at the hotel.
